Born and raised in Charleston, SC, a true culinary Mecca, Michael is a lifetime restauranteur. He started his career in restaurants as a young child working in his father's legendary 24-hour coffee shop, "The Coffee Cup" in downtown Charleston. His father owned and operated many restaurants throughout his life including the famous Howard Johnson's franchise in the late 70's and early 80's, so the restaurant business runs deep in the Stavrinakis family.
After graduating from Charleston Southern University wth a B.S. degree, Michael opened Manny's Neighborhood Grill. He and his team grew the Manny's concept to expand into 3 states effectively starting the Manny's Franchise System. He is now focused on using his 30+ years of all restaurant knowledge to help others succeed in a cut-throat industry.
Michael serves on the Board of Trustees of The Medical University of South Carolina and also on the Board of Visitors for Charleston Southern University.
Michael is happily married to Karen Jewell Stavrinakis with 3 "trouble making" kids, 17, 13 and the youngest just turning 1 year old.
